British designer Vivienne Westwood showed support for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange during her London Fashion Week show by wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with her own portrait and the words ‘I am Julian Assange.’

In November, Westwood launched the T-shirt line in a show of solidarity with Assange – all profits went to WikiLeaks. In September, she handed out ‘I am Julian Assange’ T-shirts to those sitting in the front row of her show at the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

The legendary designer told Reuters that she has raised 3,000 pounds ($4,700) for the embattled Assange through sale of the T-shirts.

"He's an incredible hero because he exposes the lies of the war mafia people,”
she said. “I love people who stick their necks out.”

Westwood held a Fashion Week showcase of her collection at the Saatchi Gallery in London.

Assange – whose whistleblowing website WikiLeaks has leaked hundreds of thousands of classified diplomatic cables – has been holed up in London’s Ecuadorean Embassy since June. If he leaves the embassy grounds, he risks being extradited from the UK to Sweden, where he faces rape and sexual assault charges.

Assange has denied any wrongdoing, and maintains that the charges against him are politically motivated.

The WikiLeaks founder pledged to publish millions more leaks in 2013, including on the Syrian conflict.
