Interior Minister Dragan Jočić and his driver Mirko Damjanović were injured in a car crash near Velika Plana last night.
In a statement this morning, the Interior Ministry said that Jočić had been transferred to the Banjica Orthopaedic Clinic, where he has undergone surgery, and is now convalescing.
Damjanović has also been operated on, but his injuries are not life-threatening.
Velika Plana Investigative Judge, who arrived on the scene within minutes, ascertained that the Mercedes they were driving had hit a dog that had wandered out on to the motorway.
The car had then swerved into the central reservation, flipping over on collision.
According to the ministry, the accident took place at 11.30 p.m
