The Serbian Armed Forces are capable of taking part in peacekeeping missions around the world, especially those organized by the EU, State Secretary for Defense Zoran Jeftic said Monday.

The Defense Ministry and the military are ready to send troops on peacekeeping missions, and the public will receive timely information about the location and time of those missions.

Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac stated Sunday that a security agreement with the EU would be signed soon, which would allow Serbia to send its officers to EU peacekeeping missions for the first time.

“We will soon sign a security agreement with Brussels, that is the EU, and for the first time in history, we will be sending our officers to EU peacekeeping missions,” Sutanovac remarked.

Jeftic also commented on a tender for a new multi-purpose aircraft by saying that it is open to all large companies, including those from China.
