U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will travel to the Balkans next week before heading to Brussels for a North Atlantic Treaty Organization ministerial meeting, her department said Tuesday in a statement.
During her travels, from Oct. 11 to Oct. 14, Clinton will go to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Kosovo to meet leaders and citizens “to highlight the continued U.S. commitment to support all the Balkan states in achieving their aspirations for full integration into the European and Euro-Atlantic community.”
In Brussels, Clinton will take part in a NATO foreign ministers’ meeting and hold talks with European Council President Herman Van Rompuy and with High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton, the State Department said.
