Singer Jennifer Hudson testifies at trial of murder of her family

CHICAGO (Reuters) - Grammy and Academy Award winning singer and actress Jennifer Hudson was the first witness called to testify at the start of the trial on Monday of a man accused of murdering three of Hudson's family members in 2008.

Immediately after opening statements at the trial of William Balfour, Jennifer Hudson was called to testify at the trial.

Balfour, 30, who had been married to Hudson's sister Julia, is accused of killing Hudson's mother Darnell Donerson, 57, her brother Jason Hudson, 29 and her nephew Julian King, 7.
