Kosovo is a hotbed of organized crime and corruption, and that EULEX should pay attention to that said Serbia’s State Secretary with the Serbian Ministry for Kosovo and Metohija Oliver Ivanovic.
“Setting up of a special EULEX unit for combating organized crime in northern Kosovo [where Serbs live] may be a good idea,” said Ivanovic but “Pristina is a much more serious problem”.
Recent report by the Council of Europe names the Albanian Hashim Thaci as the mastermind behind organ extraction and trade, human trafficking and drugs.
However, EULEX has decided that crime among Serbs requires special force.
EULEX Spokesman Hanns-Christian Klasing said Tuesday that the mission had formed a special police unit to be in charge of northern Kosovo.
He noted that the unit had experts trained to combat money laundering, while the main focus was on fighting drug and human trafficking.
“I am afraid that singling out northern Kosovo as the only problem will not improve EULEX’s image among the Serb inhabitants,” Ivanovic said.
Serbian Orthodox Patriarch Irinej noted that evidence shows that the extraction of organs out of Serbs by the Albanian separatists was done in full knowledge by the Western powers that are in Kosovo to allegedly bring peace and justice.
“The worst example is, unfortunately, the relationship of the many… powerfuls against the right of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohia to life, liberty and the future,” the Patriarch said.
“Besides everything, a gruesome atrocity of organ trade of innocent Serbian victims, hate and the terror is developing with indifference and in some cases by taking part in silencing by the representatives of the international community,” the Patriarch said.
Meanwhile, Albanian separatist Vlora Citaku said that Qatar has promised that it will soon recognize Kosovo separatists as a country.
