Hundreds of Kosovo Muslim Albanians demand that their separatist government reverse its decision to ban use of Muslim headscarf in schools.

Hundreds of Kosovo Muslim Albanians rushed to the streets on Friday to protest against a ban by authorities to wear a Muslim headscarf in school.

The protesters, many of them devout Muslims, chanted anti-government slogans as they walked through the capital, Pristine, to a government building.

Protesters carried banners saying “Stop Discrimination” and “Unveil the mind, not the head.”

One banner read “Yes to Kosovo Democratic Republic, No to Kosovo Anti-Islamic Dictatorship.”

The protesting Muslim Albanians demand that the women be allowed to be cloaked.

“This is an obligation from Allah and I think I will soon join the women here and put on a headscarf,” said one protester.

Most recently, a 16-year old girl was suspended from a high school for wearing a headscarf.

Extremist Islam is spreading among the Albanian Muslims not just in Kosovo but across the Balkans. Albanian Muslims have recently released a song in Albanian language that glorifies terrorist Osama bin Laden.
