A total of four rockets have been fired from Gaza into southern Israel on Thursday. Two of them land in Gaza, one in Sderot and another in Shaar Hanegev, RT's Paula Slier reports.

Israeli authorities report no injuries.

One of the rockets hit a back yard in Sderot and caused some damage. Another landed in an open terrain hurting neither people nor property.

The attack took place while US president Barack Obama is visiting the region and is scheduled to meet with Palestinian leaders later in the day.

Officials involved in US President Obama’s visit say there will be no change in his schedule as a result of the Gaza rocket fire.

Unprecedented safety measures are being taken in Israel during the visit that can only be compared with Bush visit in 2008 and Papal visit of 2009.

More than 15,000 police officers are engaged on the national level, as well as Israel's undercover and special forces, working in cooperation with US security forces.

Obama says he has no new initiatives of how to bring Palestinians and Israelis back to the peace negotiations table.

No group has claimed responsibility for the Thursday attack.

Gaza rocket fire on Israel has declined since the IDF military campaign in November, but sporadic attacks continue. Last month a rocket was fired at the Israeli city of Ashkelon.

The US has invested more than $275mln into the Israeli missile defense system and plans to spend another $211mln on it this year.

US and Israeli officials credit the Iron Dome with preventing numerous rocket attacks from Gaza.
