Former national team’s coach, Dick Advocaat, may soon return to Russia to take charge of one of the country’s top clubs.

According to Sovetsky Sport daily, Advocaat is no hurry to prolong his deal with Dutch side PSV Eindhoven as he’s hoping for a rich proposal from Russia.

The paper claims the 65-year-old may take charge of Dynamo Moscow or Zenit Saint Petersburg at the end of the season.

Advocaat had been linked with Dynamo before last summer’s Euro 2012, but he signed a one-year deal with PSV instead.

The Dutchman’s arrival in Moscow will only be possible if the club changes owner, with billionaire Rotenberg brothers taking charge.

As for Zenit, Advocaat had a very successful stay in St Pete in 2006-09, winning the Russian Premier League, UEFA Cup and UEFA Super Cup.

But now he’s mainly remembered in Russia for the failed Euro 2012 where he was the highest paid coach, with an annual salary of €7 million.

The national team lost to Greece 1-0 in a crucial match which meant they failed to qualify for the playoffs from the group, considered the easiest at the tournament by most experts.    

Advocaat never returned to Russia after the European championship and never gave an interview to the country’s media.

Talking to Dutch journalists he said he didn’t care of the criticism his work received in Russia.
