Team Russia swimmers have won a total of nine medals, including two golds, to finish the World Short-Course Championships in Istanbul, Turkey in fifth place in the overall standings.

Vladimir Morozov, who triumphed in the 100 and 50-meter freestyle, has brought his country both gold medals, with the Russians also bagging three silver and four bronze.

But it’s the Americans, who ruled the 25-meter pool, with an impressive 27 podiums (11 golds, 8 silver and 8 bronze).

Ryan Lochte became the event’s main hero as the US swimmer leaves Istanbul with 6 golds, a silver and a bronze to his tally.  

China finished second in the overall standings (3 golds, 5 silver, 3 bronze), with Hungary (4 golds, 3 silver, 4 bronze) completing the Top 3.

Hungarian Katinka Hosszu, was the star of the women’s competition, racing to 2 golds, 2 silver and a bronze.
