Serbia’s Prime Minister Cvetkovic and his Egyptian colleague Ahmed Nazif agreed that the cooperation between Serbia and Egypt is excellent and there are no open issues between them.

“Good political cooperation can serve as an incentive to improve economic cooperation, which would be supported by politicians but implemented by companies,” Cvetkovic said after the meeting.

Both agreed that good relations is the basis for improving the economic cooperation.

Egypt and Serbia signed three cooperation agreements at the meeting. One on science and technology, another on telecommunications, postal services and information society, and the last one about culture and art.

Cvetkovic said that both countries are working on two more agreements.

One on free trade and the other on cooperation in the weapons industry.

Serbia is already a major weapons exporter to Iraq.

Nazif stated that the two countries’ cooperation could be improved in agriculture, pharmacy, automotive industry and a number of other fields that have not been tapped into yet.

Cvetkovic is also scheduled to meet Parliament Speaker Ahmed Fathi Surur and address a business forum between Egyptian and Serbian companies.
