The State of Kuwait offers outstanding contributions to the United Nations efforts aiming to solve the economic, social and political problems of the world, a senior Bosnian official said Thursday.

“Kuwait is a key player in realizing the UN Millennium Development Goals (UDGs) in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and other parts of the world,” Elvir Camidzic, the foreign policy advisor to BiH Presidency Chairman Haris Silajdzic, said in statements to KUNA here.

“Chairman Silajdzic appreciated Kuwait position during his meeting with His Highness the Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah in New York yesterday on the sidelines of the UN summit on MDGs.

“HH the Kuwaiti Prime Minister’s address to the UN summit showed that Kuwait is unequivocally one of the few countries of the world that translates pledges into actions,” he affirmed.

“Kuwait Fund for Arab and Economic Development (KFAED) offers practical contributions to the economic and social development plans of many poor countries around the globe,” Camidzic added.

Meanwhile, the BiH Presidency issued a statement today, praising as “excellent” the ties between the two countries and commending KFAED’s contributions to the development projects in the former Yugoslav republic over the last 15 years.
